Gee, whiz! There's another copy of the very rare UK pre-cert video release of THE BEASTS on eBay.

Another copy of CANNIBAL MERCENARY 2 on eBay

The same eBay UK seller who had the Thai VCD release of CANNIBAL MERCENARY aka Employ For Die 2 aka Mercenary 2 up for sale obviously bought more than one copy! He's got another copy up for auction right now. The starting bid is again approx £30. I still don't own a copy of the film but, uhh, £30 for a bloody video-cd!!! >_< Here's the auction.

Shopping tip for that thar rare trashy world-weird movie

A little while ago I posted about the entertaining movie STRIKE OF THE TORTURED ANGELS in the series "Bizarre and insane English dubbed Hong Kong films the world forgot". Check my post here (there's also a YouTube clip).

The version I own is a Danish PAL VHS. I knew there was a rare American NTSC tape but I have never found that tape myself and it's safe to say it's very rare. If you're interested in the US tape here's your chance; it's on eBay in the US right now! The auction runs another day and 20 hours. The current bid is a mere $2.50!!!
EDIT: the tape was sold for $4.25!!!!! O_O
Man, I should have made a bid altho I already got the Danish tape!

Spiralheadcase on ebay in Japan has the Japanese VHS of the rare HK horror comedy FIRST VAMPIRE IN CHINA up for auction! For the HKMDB go here. The tape is in Cantonese with Japanese subs. There's no DVD release of this film. There's an English subbed laserdisc from Hong Kong but it's very rare. The auction runs another day. Go here.

Edit: the final bidder won the tape at 31 dollars.

Shopping for that thar rare world-weird film

Here's just a quick shopping tip for the Danish ex-rental VHS release of weird, wild, and wacky Indonesian JUNGLE VIRGIN FORCE (aka Perawan rimba, 1988). Needless to say the film isn't released on DVD and unless the good people at Mondo Macabro begin to release Indo films again it's probably not gonna get an official release any day soon. The Danish tape carries the English dub and is uncut. The auction runs for another 5 hours and you can check more video clips on the seller's eBay page. EDIT: Hmm, it seems less people are into worldweird horror than what I'd expect. That awesome film only had two bidders and went for $10.50. Either that or most people only want films in the shape of free computer files off the internet these days. I guess I'm a dying breed, I still prefer real releases to put on the shelf.   NB: I should just point out I am not the seller.

Here's a quick recommendation for you; The rare and highly entertaining Indonesian film JUNGLE HEAT (not to be confused with the Taiwan film of the same English title, also known as "Last Breath") is on eBay right now!

The auction runs for about one more day. The film is directed by Ratno Timoer who also did the awesome movies THE DEVIL'S SWORD and THE BLIND WARRIOR and also acted and directed many more films (check his huge filmography here) and Peter "Rambu" O'Brian from THE INTRUDER (aka Rambu) is in the movie!

It goes without saying the film is not on DVD and probably won't be. And also, this Greek VHS is the only English dubbed release anywhere! Do notice that the tape is in the European PAL format so you'll need a multi system player if you're in North America or any other area that uses the NTSC format.
